Dick Lehman is one of the foremost American woodfiring potters. His writings chronicle his experiences woodfiring in the US, the aesthetics of woodfired pottery, and his friendship with Shiho Kanzaki, among other subjects. And his work is gorgeous.

Robert Yellin is based in Mishima, Japan, and is a prominent writer on all aspects of Japanese pottery. E-yakimono is one of the most comprehensive websites on the subject, and should be especially helpful for those both familiar with, and new to the genre.

Carole Epp's blog is a fantastic resource, especially for Canadian potters. It is frequently updated with gallery news, calls for entry, and profiles of a wide range of artist's work. Carole herself is a talented potter based in Alberta, with a line of both functional and sculptural pieces.

Darren is a fellow New Brunswick ceramic artist, working with electric and wood-fire. His work has been highly acclaimed both in Canada and abroad, and he is our friend! Go Darren!

Kumano, "The Bear of Echizen", makes astounding, delicious work. He is known for firing his kiln to devilish temperatures, which lends his trademark shino-glazed pieces their gorgeous, fluffy textures, and incredible colour. Some of my favourite woodfired pottery.
